Why should I join the SAVA Certification Scheme?

A Certification Scheme is a professional regulator of Home Inspectors, and being able to practice as a Home Inspector depends on joining such a scheme. An individual may have a Diploma in Home Inspection, but they are not able to practice as a Home Inspector until they are members of a Certification Scheme.

The SAVA Certification Scheme is open to Home Inspectors qualifying from all assessment centres. It operates independently of SAVA.

The benefits of joining the SAVA Certification Scheme
The SAVA CS builds upon SAVA's reputation as a champion of residential property surveying standards. Our checks and quality assurance procedures are thorough (but painless!) and guarantee consumer confidence.

The SAVA CS checks that your clients are happy with the service, and reports any important feedback to you.

Comprehensive insurance
We provide comprehensive Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance for all reports registered with the scheme – so there is no need to carry your own cover for producing HCRs. Read a summary here

Easy to use software
Members of the scheme use our industry leading NES one software.

On-demand technical support
We have a dedicated Technical Support team available to answer your queries – whether they are about our software systems or questions directly related to the RDSAP conventions. The team can be contacted by telephone or email, and there is also an online support website containing FAQs and knowledgebases to further assist you.

Keep up to date with our Technical Bulletins
Members of the Certification Scheme get sent printed and holepunched copies of our HI Technical Bulletins and RdSAP Technical Bulletins, keeping members abreast of Home Condition Reporting developments, associated issues and tips on using our software.

CPD
Members of the Certification Scheme are advised of any Continuing Professional Development – including reduced rates for training courses.

Online storage
You are able to upload inspection records and photographs using our software, which simplifies our audit and complaint investigation procedures. This is in addition to your own record keeping requirements.

Identity cards and branding
All members receive an identity card for use during assessments, and have access to logos for use on websites, stationery and other branded items.

The SAVA Certification Scheme will ensure that Home Inspectors continually reach the high quality standards expected of them. Go on to learn about how to apply.
